MCP server
Connect Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client to RealtyCrawl's hosted MCP server and look up homes for sale, sold homes, rentals and property history with your API key.
RealtyCrawl runs a hosted Model Context Protocol server. An AI assistant connected to it can search homes for sale, sold homes and rentals, look up a home's facts and history, and check your credits, with no code.
Server URL:
https://api.realtycrawl.com/mcp
- Auth: your API key in the
Authorization: Bearerheader - Transport: Streamable HTTP, stateless
#Connect
#Claude Code
Run this once with your key in REALTYCRAWL_KEY, then check it with claude mcp list.
claude mcp add --transport http realtycrawl https://api.realtycrawl.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer $REALTYCRAWL_KEY"#Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or .cursor/mcp.json for one project. Cursor reads REALTYCRAWL_KEY from your environment.
{ "mcpServers": { "realtycrawl": { "url": "https://api.realtycrawl.com/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:REALTYCRAWL_KEY}" } } }}#VS Code
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace. VS Code asks for the key once and stores it securely. Use it from GitHub Copilot in agent mode.
{ "inputs": [ { "type": "promptString", "id": "realtycrawl-key", "description": "RealtyCrawl API key", "password": true } ], "servers": { "realtycrawl": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.realtycrawl.com/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:realtycrawl-key}" } } }}#Claude Desktop
Claude Desktop starts local servers, so this uses mcp-remote to reach the hosted URL. Add it to claude_desktop_config.json (Settings → Developer → Edit Config) and restart Claude. It needs Node.js.
{ "mcpServers": { "realtycrawl": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://api.realtycrawl.com/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${AUTH_HEADER}"], "env": { "AUTH_HEADER": "Bearer rc_your_key" } } }}#Claude API
Claude calls the tools inside one Messages API request through the MCP connector.
curl https://api.anthropic.com/v1/messages \ -H "X-API-Key: $ANTHROPIC_API_KEY" \ -H "anthropic-version: 2023-06-01" \ -H "anthropic-beta: mcp-client-2025-11-20" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "model": "claude-sonnet-5-5", "max_tokens": 2000, "messages": [{ "role": "user", "content": "What did homes in 80221 sell for in the last 90 days?" }], "mcp_servers": [{ "type": "url", "url": "https://api.realtycrawl.com/mcp", "name": "realtycrawl", "authorization_token": "rc_your_key" }], "tools": [{ "type": "mcp_toolset", "mcp_server_name": "realtycrawl" }] }'#Other MCP clients
Any client that supports Streamable HTTP with custom headers can connect: use the URL above and send Authorization: Bearer with your key. Clients that only start local servers can use mcp-remote, as in the Claude Desktop example.
Keep the key in your client's config or an environment variable, never in a prompt or a shared repo.

All tools are read-only.
#How calls work
- One call, one finished result. The server sends the call and waits for it, so the assistant gets rows instead of a job to poll.
- Slow calls. If a call is still collecting after about 55 seconds, the tool returns a
request_id. The assistant callsget_resultwith it, and that is not charged again. - Compact rows. Area searches leave out
extrasunless you passfields: "full". - Same costs as the API. Each completed call costs its route's credits, cache hits included. Failed calls,
get_result,account_usageandapi_statusare free.
#Example prompts
- "What did homes in 80221 sell for in the last 90 days? Give me the median price per square foot."
- "Find 3-bed single-family homes for sale in Denver under $600,000."
- "Show the price and tax history for 2041 Samuel Dr, Denver, CO."
- "What's the Zestimate and rent estimate for this home?"
